Wanted ... due to the sad and sudden death of a dear pussy cat I rehomed a few years ago called Spud, I am looking for a male (preferably) tabby cat for this super rural home. He will be much loved and spoilt rotten with space to roam safely.
If you know of any such cat out there who needs a new caring home or have seen one in rescue recently, please let me know asap.

April Showers... Not a very nice weekend it has to be said, but at least it was warm if a little too wet for my liking!
Sensibly a lot of customers off on their hols over the easter break - meaning busy times for my staff and me. We welcome Karen back from her annual winter break in the USA, tanned and smiling as ever! Kirsty had a few well deserved days off last week and Lucy is away on a placement this week so Little Ellie who is off school for the holidays is stepping into the breach.
NOTE FOR OWNERS OF CATS WHO SUFFER FROM CYSTITIS OR STRESS INDUCED FLUTD
I have been hearing very good reports of this new product. If your cat is already on the C/D diet this new formula may well prove to be more effective. Ask your vet for details.
NEW Hill's™ Prescription Diet™ c/d™ Feline Urinary Stress Chicken is a nutrition clinically proven to reduce the recurrence of FLUTD signs and contains ingredients to control stress, a known risk factor for the major cause of FLUTD.
Newbies - Pepe the Exotic Shorthair cutie only took 24 hours to come out of his shell and let us all know he loves cuddles and attention and oh yes - food...
Millie & Ricky, the 13 year old siblings adjusted to our routine like a walk in the park - taking their medication without stress - and generally being perfect guests.
Ringo & Robbie the Black and White brothers took 24 hours to work out they were not at the vets and are using their interior shelf as a look out post - just in case!
Toby has talked me into having four feeds a day now to make sure he keeps his condition. At eighteen years of age he deserves a little extra - although I have no idea where he's putting it all!
Merlin has really come out of his shell and is now running the family block - and he's another one who has succoured me into an extra meal time...
Longer stays - the Birmans are fine as are Tabitha, Mori, Honey & Shadow. Little Roly has caused us a little worry on and off but following vets advice and a change of feeding regime is now perfectly healthy and although occasionally a little off colour has been in good spirits throughout his stay.
Regulars - Happy to report all are fit and healthy. I have two Alfies and two Millies staying presently, along side a Bella and a Belle, a Baboushka and a Boots. Then there is Dillon, Envelope and George, Leo, Mable and Merlin, Tazzle, OJ and Tippy, Poppy, Gerry and Purrsephone, Spice, Teasle, Tiggy and Timmy, Toby and Lucy & Zoe the Ragdolls. If I have missed any one off my list it is unintentional and only due to my ageing memory...
Just off to do the evening rounds - enjoy your breaks. Aly

You may or may not be aware just how many breeds of cat there are and here at Cottage Garden Cats we are lucky enough to have the opportunity to spend some time with many fine breeds, both pure and part bred as well as the domestic and semi-feral cat. I just thought I'd share some of last weeks guest list with you... it's the names I love as much as the breed names!
Mori and Brian the Siamese, Fraggle the Cornish Rex, Saphy, Daisy and Belle the Birmans, Beans the Oriental Shorthair, George and Obe the British Shorthairs, Kiwi, OJ Simba and Miss Tansy Tiptail the Burmese, Teddy the Korat, Mozart the Egyptian Mau, Merlin the Bengal and so the list goes on and if you're now asking yourself what these all look like I've added a few pics to help you out! Enjoy...

It never ceases to amaze me how all the people with a certain type or colour of cat go away at the same time. This week the majority of our guests are red. They vary from pale to dark with the odd tortie thrown in for good measure. Last week was a black week although it has to be said the odd white marking was in evidence...
